Only El Salvador officially declares the purchase of Bitcoin.
The other countries obtained their coins in a rather curious way:
In January, German police seized 50k BTC from a movie piracy website.
The US government seized a total of 213k BTC, 50k ETH, and 122 million USDT.
China is listed as the second holder of BTC: 190k BTC. The cryptocurrency was seized from the PlusToken pyramid scheme back in 2020.
The third place was taken by the UK with its holdings of 61 thousand BTC. It too is confiscated.
The governments' aggregate balance is 539 thousand BTC - that's just 2.5% of the issue. At first glance, the amount seems small.
But if you consider that there are only 1 million coins on exchange wallets at a time, trouble can happen!
If some cryptokit wants to sell its BTC on the market, and even on Saturday night - it will lead to a strong drawdown. The drop will be redeemed, of course, but the margin calls on the futures market cannot be canceled. Traders will lose not even millions, but billions of dollars!
Now you know that the U.S., China or Europe can arrange a big "badaboom" in crypto. But you will not be affected by this wave if you buy coins on a spot without shoulders.
Take advantage of such drawdowns, one of them is going on right now!
